How to adapt the template
Open Manual Entry, replace every sample amount, and add or remove rows as needed. Keep categories mutually exclusive so the slices form one meaningful total. If there are more than six or seven small categories, combine them into “Other” or switch to a bar chart.
Make the chart useful in a report
State the month, currency, and whether the amounts are planned or actual. The chart communicates allocation; include the total budget in nearby text when readers also need the absolute scale.
Frequently asked questions
Do the budget amounts need to be percentages?
No. Enter the actual amounts and the pie chart will calculate each category share.
Can I add or remove categories?
Yes. Open Manual Entry and use the row controls to match your budget.
